Vallauris ceramic plate by Malarmey

Large decorated ceramic plate, signed Jean Claude Malarmey in Vallauris.
Circa 30 cm in diameter.
Very good condition.

“Jean-Claude Malarmey had been a student at the School of Fine Arts in Reims; he settled in Vallauris, according to the sources, in 1953 or 1954. There he met at Jean Rivier’s studio his comrades Robert Pérot and Dominique Baudart, with whom he founded the Vieux Moulin workshop; then he settled on his own account (in 1957); Roger Collet often came work with him as a turner, and made a large quantity of his pieces, which he then decorated.
